I’ve been quilting over 20 years, and started my machine quilting business when I bought my longarm machine seven years ago. Since then I’ve finished almost 500 quilts for friends, family members, and clients.
I live on an island in Puget Sound with my husband and sometimes even my grown daughter, and four Shelties. My studio takes up most of the lower floor of our house (almost 800 square feet), and my husband affectionately calls it ‘Craftland.’ There’s even a small galley-style kitchen that I’ve co-opted for fiber dyeing. Who wouldn’t????
My obsession with textiles started early -- crocheting at 4 -- and then I worked my way through spinning, weaving, dyeing, felting, and knitting before I arrived at quilting. My technical training is in engineering so I’m always looking at patterns for their underlying structure and how to make things fit together easier and better.
This is a great space for classes and workshops. Contact me via e-mail or at 206-842-4979 if there’s something you and your friends would like to learn or have always wanted to try -- or even if you just want a quilter’s play-day. Below is a glimpse of my studio, and if you click on the picture, you’ll end up in my flickr gallery, where there’s lots more photos of the studio -- and lots pics of quilts too!
